Sunrisers Hyderabad was shaken at the bottom of the table halfway and the resumption of the 2021 IPL without New Zealand and England players will add to their concerns. The Sunrisers have reached the playoffs in their last three seasons and they will be extremely disappointed with their performance in the first half of the tournament this year.
They’ve only managed one win out of the seven games they’ve played and their net run rate won’t help them either. They’ll need a flurry of victories from anyone, which won’t be easy, and they fired the David Warner talisman from the harbor master’s office after his conflicts with management. Here are 3 players from Sunrisers Hyderabad who could miss the 2nd step.
3 players from Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) who could miss the 2nd stage:
Kane Williamson was named the new skipper of the Sunrisers Hyderabad franchise after their dismal performance in the opening games and he needed to move the team forward with his captaining skills as well as his batting prowess. Williamson had a great 2018 IPL season as captain and opener where he guided his team to the final.
However, he is also the skipper of the New Zealand team in all formats and it is highly unlikely that he will participate in the IPL takeover again. Williamson is a very underrated T20 player and he can have a significant impact on the success of the team. His composure and solidity with the bat are second to none and Sunrisers Hyderabad has to look for captains again when IPL resumes.
