Carol smith
Carol Eileen Smith, 86, of Milford, beloved wife of the late Richard Smith, Sr., passed away peacefully on September 13, 2021. Born January 15, 1935 in New Haven, daughter of the late Walter and Eileen Murray.
After attending Saint Mary’s High School in New Haven, Carol worked for New Haven Railroad, Southern New England Telephone, and Saint Raphael Hospital, where she met her beloved husband Richard, 62. Carol has dedicated her life to raising her five children. She was a loving wife, a caring mother, a lovely grandmother, an amazing sister, and the best friend of many. She will be remembered for a long time as someone who put others first. She loved watching her grandchildren play sports, swim in the pool and talk to them on the phone. She loved to organize vacations and picnics at home, spending time with her brother and sister which always resulted in “lots of laughs” and family dinners were always a Sunday staple. Whether you’ve met Carol once or known her all your life, you knew you were better off spending time with her. She will be missed beyond words.
Carol is survived by her beloved children, Richard Smith, Jr., Susan (William Jr.) Meade, Stephen (Lisa Perschino-Smith) Smith, David (Michele) Smith and Scott (Jennifer) Smith; his eleven grandchildren, William and Amanda Meade and Richard III, Emily, Molly, Madison, Andrew, Aedan, Caelin, Brendan and Quinn Smith; siblings, Eileen Cafferty and Walter Murray; and many extended family members and friends.
