Here is your chance to claim your own private island and potentially generate some income at the same time.
East Sister Rock Island just off Marathon, FL in the Lower Keys is available for $ 11.7 million. For a buyer looking for true isolation, there’s nothing quite like it.
“What makes it so unique is that it is an independent island. You need a boat to get there ”, says Adam levy, which announces the property with Alex Isaiah.
A buyer will not be content to acquire this dream land surrounded by azure waters.
As Levy describes the whole package: “It has two folio numbers, one for the land – the mainland with two ship slips. And you have another folio number for the 6.5 acres of seabed from land to island. Once you get to the island you have an extra acre.
The fact that the buyer will technically own several acres of seabed between the mainland and the island is also unique.
“Not that you can build on it, but if anyone has a chance to do something with that seabed, maybe you could build houses on stilts.” Or maybe one day put a long pedestrian bridge – or who knows? »Said Lévy.
On the artificial island there are two dwellings: a main house and a guest house.
“The main house is a three bedroom, two bathroom home with a large wraparound porch,” says Levy. “It has amazing views and is quite amazing.”
Published reports indicate that the original builder created the island by digging a ditch and drilling into the coral rock. The list dates the house to 1980, a time before there were any strict environmental laws. Nothing like this could be built today.
Levy says it’s the perfect place to watch spectacular sunrises and sunsets.
“There is a constant breeze,” he says. “After dark, the stars come out, so it’s sunset over the planets. Take your telescope.
Inside the main house there is a large kitchen with plenty of seating and prep space. It opens onto a dining area and a living space.
The guest rooms are more rustic and offer a single room plus a small kitchen.
Outside, there’s a pool designed for quick dives, as well as plenty of protected ocean areas for snorkeling, fishing, diving, and other aquatic adventures.
As for utilities, the whole island is self-sufficient, with solar and wind power, as well as a generator, cistern and septic tank for the whole house.
Access to the mainland is only a few minutes by boat. An owner could also opt for a helicopter and land directly at the island’s helipad.
The current owners have owned the island since 1995 and have used it as a very profitable vacation rental.
“They rent it out every week, and the stuff brings in tons of money, if you want rental income,” says Levy.
Prices range from $ 10,500 per week to $ 16,500 per week during the holidays.
Levy says cryptocurrency millionaires, CEOs, athletes and others have expressed interest in the island. Although potential buyers come from different backgrounds, they all have one thing in common.
“I think it’s someone with an ego that says, ‘I want to own an island,’” he says.
